National Police Cadet Corps (NPCC)
Vision
The National Police Cadet Corps (NPCC) aims to develop our members into active citizens and community leaders. We work in partnership with the Singapore Police Force to fight crime and keep Singapore safe.
At Canberra Secondary School, our NPCC unit emphasises the development of skills and values through a range of experiential learning opportunities:
-
Adventure Camps: Foster teamwork and resilience, encouraging cadets to step outside their comfort zones.
-
Police Youth Ambassador Initiative: Provides insights into community policing, enhancing understanding of police-community relations and instilling civic responsibility.
-
Community Safety and Security Programmes: Improve cadets' awareness of their role in maintaining a safe society.
-
Road Safety Marshalling: Secondary 1 cadets learn essential skills in traffic management and public safety, highlighting the importance of vigilance in daily life.
-
0.22 Revolver Shooting Competition: Offers Secondary 3 cadets the chance to develop focus, discipline, and precision.
-
Unit Hikes: Promote physical fitness, endurance, connection to nature, and teamwork.
-
National Library Board's KidsRead Programme: Cultivates empathy and communication skills, enabling cadets to engage effectively with younger community members.
-
Kayaking: Fosters physical activity while promoting leadership and decision-making skills in a dynamic environment.
-
First Aid Courses: Equip cadets with vital life-saving techniques, emphasizing the importance of being prepared to assist others in emergencies.
-
Police Knowledge Training: Cadets gain essential knowledge on crime prevention, police procedures, and basic laws, critical for any future career in law enforcement.
These diverse experiences help cultivate well-rounded individuals, instilling key values like integrity, responsibility, and respect. Our programmes empower cadets with the skills necessary to contribute positively to society and navigate the challenges of the ever-evolving landscape of public safety and community engagement.
We are also proud to announce that our unit achieved the Distinction Award for Unit Overall Proficiency Award (UOPA) 2023!
